A leading institution of Odissi in Australia, promoting Indian classical sacred art forms and values.

We are the Sohamasmi Centre for Performing Arts based in Melbourne, Australia. Our purpose is to promote Indian classical sacred art forms and values. We recognise that art is a tool to chisel the inner personality, to create a bond of mutual growth and artistic excellence that is confident and self-aware. Odissi dance training is at the core of our artistic endeavour and we are the foremost institution of Odissi in Australia that follows a pedagogical lineage of the Late Guru Kelucharan Mahapatra. We are also a professional Odissi dance group and soloists, with a student base of various ethnicities and cultural backgrounds.
