Sohamasmi Centre for Performing Arts owes its origin to the vision and inspiration of Monica Singh Sangwan - an Odissi dancer, teacher and performer. She is deeply inspired by the immense capabilities that the art form of Odissi dance has to offer to the present generations.
The core purpose of the Centre is the promotion of Indian classical sacred art forms and values. The modes of promotion are based on pedagogy, cultural exchanges, organising concerts, intensive Gurukul workshops and creating self-sustaining expressions of artistic excellence in India and Australia.
